“DOG: A Celebration of Companionship” Opens at A Sometimes Gallery
Portland, Ore. — May 28, 2025 — A Sometimes Gallery is pleased to announce DOG, a group exhibition celebrating our relationships with our canine friends. The show is inspired by our love of dogs, and by this month’s release of gallery artist Jessica Poundstone’s book, “Museum of Dogs: A Romp Through Art History for Dog People” (Chronicle Books, 2025, $14.95).
“Most of the artists chose to depict their own dogs for this show, and the love they feel for these pups really comes through in the work. It’s an incredibly joyful and love-filled show,” said Amy Rowan, gallery director, show curator, and dog mom to Frida.
Up through the month of July, DOG includes several special events, including an opening party on Saturday, June 7; pet portraits and paw print tile-making on Sunday June 8; and an adoption event with Underdogs Rock! Rescue on Saturday, July 26.
The show features affordable artwork by more than 20 local artists, including paintings, prints (open and limited editions), fiber art, photography, soft sculpture, and more. Artists (in alphabetical order) include:
